9. Night

1.     By the night when it cloaks and covers,

2.     And by the day when it sparkles,

3.     And by the One that creates both male and female,

4.     Your efforts and endeavors are surely scattered and divers/asunder.

5.     For whoever gives from his belongings and is careful/is cautious/is wary/refrains,

6.     and confirms the beautiful,

7.     we will ease the easiest.

8.     As for whoever strays into greed and considers himself above all needs,

9.     and denies beauty,

10.  We will forward him toward the hardest.

11.  When he reaches the breaking point, his wealth cannot save him.

12.  Indeed, only we can guide to what is right and beautiful.

13.  The after and the before are belonging to us only.

14.  I have warned you against a blazing fire.

15.  None will enter it except for the miserable one who is fond of violence.

16.  He had denied and turned his back.

17.  And who is careful/is cautious/is wary/refrains will be kept far from it.

18.  He, who gives his wealth so he can be cleansed and purified/he, who gives what belongs to himself so he can be cleansed and purified/the one who is to be cleansed and purified, is the one who gives his wealth/the one who is to be cleansed and purified, is the one who gives what belongs to himself.

19.  Nobody has any favor with him to be recompensed.

20.  Except for the one who is giving because he yearns for and asks for the face of his God, the Supreme.

21.  Surely, he will soon be pleased.
