70. Honeybee

 

  1. God’s command came. Do not be impatient to face it. God is whom all of existence turns to/gives praise to/seeks refuge with/calls/begs/invokes/turns to with sincerity, remembrance and praise. He is immaculate above what they associate Him with.
  2. To whomever from His servants He wishes, He sends down angels with the Spirit of His command, saying; ‘Warn like this’. ‘The truth is: there is no god but Me, so fear Me!’
  3. He created the skies and the Earth in truth. He is immaculate above what they associate Him with.
  4. He created the human out of a sperm. And suddenly, the human became an openly opposing/challenging enemy/adversary.
  5. He created the cattle. They provide you with something warming/protecting, and with many benefits. You eat some things of them/you eat some of them.
  6. And there is beauty in them for you: when you take them outside in the morning and when you bring them inside in the evening.
  7. And they bear your burdens and carry them to lands you could not reach without consuming half of your lives. Without a doubt, your God is Endlessly Merciful, Compassionate and Protective, your God is Endlessly Loving, Compassionate.
  8. And horses, mules, donkeys He created for you to ride, and as ornaments. And He creates many more things that you cannot know about.
  9. It is up to God to straighten the Way and find the balance point. There are also those who stray from it. If God wanted to, He would have guided all of you.
  10. From the sky, He brought down a water for you; there is a drink of it. And from it grows vegetation from which you feed your animals.
  11. With that water, He brings out crop, olives, dates, grapes and fruits of all kinds for you. Surely, there is a true miracle/sign/wonder/verse in this for a community that thinks deeply/meditates/gives thought/considers/reflects.
  12. He put the night, the day, the sun and the moon at your disposal. As well as the stars, which have submitted to a service/duty by His command. Surely, there are lessons/warnings/examples in this for a community that uses reason.
  13. And for you, on Earth, He brought other things in various colors into being as well. Surely, there is a miracle/sign/wonder/verse in this for a community that thinks/considers and draws lessons.
  14. And it is He who put the sea at your disposal, so that you can eat fresh meat from it, and so that you can bring out ornaments from it to equip/decorate yourselves with. You see ships ploughing through it, so that you may search for your share of His grace/favor/kindness and so that you may be grateful.
  15. He has cast heavy mountains on the Earth, in case it should shake you, and rivers and roads so that you may be guided to what is good and right.
  16. And many signs! And with the stars, they find their path and direction.
  17. Is He who creates like one who does not create? Will you not think/be mindful?
  18. If you try to count God’s blessings, you cannot reach their end. God is truly the Constant Forgiver and the Endlessly Loving, Compassionate.
  19. God knows what you hide and what you reveal.
  20. Those whom they call/beg to/invoke besides God cannot create anything; they themselves are being created.
  21. They are dead ones who cannot spring to life. They don’t even know when they will be brought to life.
  22. Your God is One God. But those who do not believe in the hereafter; their hearts became disbelieving because they are stuck in arrogance.
  23. Without a doubt, God knows what they hide and what they reveal. Indeed, He does not like the ones who regard themselves as superior/look down on others.
  24. When they were asked: ‘What has your God sent down?’ They said: ‘The stories of the former ones.’
  25. On the day of resurrection, may they, besides taking on their own sins in full, also take on some of the sins of the ones they led astray because of ignorance. What evil thing they are taking on!
  26. The ones before them had plotted a trap. Then, God crushed into the foundations of their buildings, so the roof from above them collapsed onto them. Suffering had come to them from a place they had never noticed.
  27. Then, on the day of resurrection, He will put them to shame and say: ‘Where are My associates for whom you started fights and fell out with each other?’ The ones who were given knowledge will say: ‘Today, disgrace and evil are upon the ungrateful who concealed the truth.’
  28. Those who the angels take in death while they were being cruel to their core-selves, will then offer their submission. ‘We were doing nothing wrong.’ It is not like that at all. God knows well what you are doing.
  29. Go on, enter the gates of hell: you will stay there for a long time. Surely; terrible is the residence of those who are stuck in arrogance.
  30. When the careful/cautious/wary/refraining ones were asked: ‘What has your God sent down?’ They said: ‘Goodness/prosperity/benevolence.’ In this world, there is beauty/wellness for the ones who think beautiful/well and act beautiful/well. The home of the hereafter is better/more prosperous/more benevolent. How beautiful indeed is the residence of those who are careful/cautious/wary/refraining!
  31. Gardens of Eden; they will enter them. Rivers will flow underneath them. There, whatever they wish for will be theirs. Like this, God rewards the careful/cautious/wary/refraining ones.
  32. The angels will say to the pure ones whom they take in death: ‘Peace be upon you; enter the heavenly gardens as a return for what you have done.’
  33. What are they waiting for? For angels to come to them, or for God’s command to come to them? The ones before them did the same. God had not oppressed them/had not been cruel to them. On the contrary, they were oppressing/being cruel to themselves.
  34. Finally, the wrongs they had done had become their own disaster/evil, and what they had been mocking had surrounded them.
  35. The ones who had sunk in idolatry/kept associates for God, said: ‘If God had wished it, neither us nor our ancestors would have worshipped anything but God. Nor would we have forbidden anything despite Him.’ As did those before them. The duty of the messengers is none other than delivering a clear notification.
  36. Certainly, we appointed a messenger to each people, to notify them as follows: ‘Be devoted to God, avoid crossing boundaries/rebellion/false gods!’ Then, God guided some of them, and for some of them, going astray/immorality/perversion/corruption became truth. Now, travel the face of the Earth and see how deniers came to their ends!
  37. Even if you passionately want them to arrive at what is good and right, God will not guide who He lets go astray. There will be no helpers for them.
  38. With all the power of their oaths, to God they swore: ‘God does not bring a deceased person back to life!’ No, it is not like that. To bring a deceased back to life is a true promise upon Him, but most humans do not know.
  39. He will bring them back to life, so that He can clearly show them what they disagreed on, and the ones who strayed into disbelief will know that they are liars.
  40. When we intend/wish for something, the only thing we say on it, is: ‘Be,’ and it will be.
  41. For the ones who, for God, migrate after facing cruelty, we surely will establish a good place on Earth. Surely, the reward of the hereafter is greater. If only they knew.
  42. They are patient and rely only on/trust only in their God.
  43. And before you, we have not sent messengers any other than men who we revealed to/inspired. If you don’t know, ask the knowledgeable/well-informed/people of the Reminder/Remembrance/Mention.
  44. We sent with clear evidences and books/scriptures. And to you, we revealed/inspired this Reminder/Remembrance/Mention so that you may notify/inform/announce/tell/make clear to mankind what has been sent down to them, so that they may think deeply/meditate/give thought/consider/reflect.
  45. Are the ones who plotted evil traps sure that God will not smash them to the ground or that suffering will not come to them from a place they cannot notice?
  46. Or that He will not seize them when they are going back and forth? For then, they will not be able to escape.
  47. Or that He will not seize them with a gradual wasting? But, without a doubt, your God is Endlessly Merciful, Compassionate and Protective, your God is Endlessly Loving, Compassionate.
  48. Haven’t they seen that even the shadows of what God created turn to their rights and their lefts, prostrating in humility?
  49. All living/moving creatures in the sky and on the Earth, as well as the angels prostrate only to God and they are not arrogant.
  50. They shiver from their God ruling them, and they do as they are commanded.
  51. God commanded: ‘Do not take two gods; He is only one God. So, fear Me alone!’
  52. And whatever there is in the skies and on the Earth belongs to Him. And continuously, religion/faith/worship belongs to Him alone. Do you still fear anyone other than God?
  53. Whatever blessings you have are from God. Then whenever hardship/sorrow touches you, He is the only one you will call/beg to/invoke.
  54. Then, when hardship and sorrow are removed from you, a group among you will instantly associate others with their God.
  55. Only to deny/be ungrateful for what we have given them. Go on, enjoy/take advantage, you will soon know.
  56. They give part of what we have provided them to things they know nothing about. By God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power, surely you will be held accountable for the things you have been slandering/for the lies you have been inventing.
  57. And they assign daughters to God; for He is far from it/purified from this. And the things they crave are for themselves?!
  58. When one of them is given good news about a female child, his face turns dark. And he swallows and swallows with anger.
  59. He hides from the community, ashamed of the glad tidings he received. Should he keep it despite insults/humiliation/feeling inferior, or bury it into the dust of the Earth? Unquestionably, they are giving evil judgment!
  60. To those who do not believe in the hereafter belongs the likeness of evil. And to God belongs the likeness of the Highest. And He is the Source and Owner of Power and Honor, the very Powerful and Honorable; the Source of All Wisdom, the One with wisdom in all of His actions.
  61. If God were to punish mankind for its cruelty, there would not be a single living/moving/floundering creature left on Earth. But He postpones them until an appointed period of time. When their time comes, they cannot delay it, even for an hour, nor can they get ahead.
  62. They assign/attribute things to God that even they themselves find revolting. Also, their tongues are confidently fabricating lies about that the best is for them! There is no doubt that the fire is there for them. And they will be the first to enter it.
  63. By God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power, certainly we have sent messengers to communities/nations before you, but the devil/astray/distant/corrupt/rebellious/insolent/obstructing/opposing made their deeds seem fancy to them. Today, also, he is their ally/That day, also, he was their ally. There is a painful suffering for them.
  64. We have revealed/sent down this book to you for no other reason than this: So that you may explain to them clearly what they differed about, and so that the book may be a guide and a mercy for a people who believe.
  65. God sent down a water from the sky, and with it, gave life to the Earth after its death. Indeed, there is a lesson/a warning/an example in this for a community who listens. 
  66. And indeed, in animals there is a lesson/a warning/an example for you. From their bellies, from between dung and blood, we let you drink a pure milk which is pleasant to the drinkers.
  67. And from the fruits of date-palm trees and grapes you obtain an intoxicating drink and a good provision/livelihood/sustenance. Indeed, in this there surely is a lesson/a warning/an example for a community that uses its mind.
  68. Your God revealed to/inspired the honeybee: ‘Take houses among mountains, among trees and in what humans construct.’
  69. ‘Then, eat from all the fruits and, in submission, follow the ways of your God.’ From her bellies emerge colorful varieties of a drink, which is healing for mankind. Indeed, for a community that thinks deeply/meditates/gives thought/considers/reflects, there surely is a lesson/a warning/an example in it.
  70. God created you, then He will cause you to die. Some of you will be returned to the simplest and lowest point in life, so that after acquiring a knowledge, they will know nothing. God is the All-Knower, the Unparalleled in knowledge, the One whose power reaches everything, is felt in everything.
  71. God favored some of you over others in provision/livelihood/sustenance. Those who are given more would not hand over their provision/livelihood/sustenance to those under their command to make them their equals. Do they deny blessing?
  72. God granted you spouses of your own selves. And from your spouses, made sons and grandchildren for you. And granted you clean/delicious/fresh/pleasant blessings. Then are they faithful to falsehood, and are they ungrateful for the blessing of God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power? 
  73. Do they worship things that cannot provide them, that don’t have the power to do so, with even a particle from the skies and the Earth?
  74. Now, do not give God comparisons anymore. Indeed, God knows, and you do not.
  75. God gave an example: A servant/slave who is owned, who hasn’t got power over anything, versus one whom we provided with a good provision/livelihood/sustenance so he can distribute it both secretly and publicly. Can they be the same? All praise is for God, but most of them do not know.
  76. And God gave an example: Two men; one unable to express himself/dumb/stupid, who hasn’t got power over anything while he is a burden on his master/manager. Wherever the master sends him, he will bring no good. Now, can this man be the same as a person who is on a right path, and is encouraging/stimulating/promoting justice?
  77. To God belongs the unseen/the unknown/the currently unknown/the absolute unknown completely outside the limits of human knowledge/the mystery - of the skies and the Earth. The command regarding that Hour is as near as the blink of an eye, or even closer. God is the One whose power reaches everything, is felt in everything.
  78. God brought you out of your mothers’ wombs; you knew nothing. He gave you, so that you may be grateful, hearing, sight and hearts.
  79. Haven’t they looked at the birds that are submitted to a command in the void of the sky? None holds them up except for God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power. Indeed, there are lessons/warnings/examples in this for a community who believes.
  80. And God made your homes a place of peace and tranquility for you, and created houses of animal skins for you, that you can easily carry both when migrating and when you land/settle. And from the wool, fleece and hair of animals, He gave you clothing, furnishing/flooring and useful objects that you can use for a certain period of time.
  81. And from what He created God made shades for you. And from the mountains He made shelters for you. And for you He made garments to protect you from heat and garments to protect you from your violence/war. This is how He completes His blessing upon you so that you may surrender to Him and reach well-being/peace.
  82. Then if they still turn away, your task is nothing but a clear notification.
  83. They recognize/are aware of God’s blessings, then they deny it. And most of them are ungrateful.
  84. On the day when we bring forth a witness from every community/nation, the disbelievers will not be given permission, nor will they be given an opportunity to apologize.
  85. When the cruel ones come face to face with suffering, their suffering will not be eased, nor will they be given more time.
  86. When those who strayed into associating God with partners see those partners they associated with, they say: ‘Our God! These are our partners that we used to beg to/invoke besides You.’ But their partners will throw their word back at them, saying: ‘You surely are liars!’
  87. That day, they will offer their submission to God. And whatever they once invented as tools of slander will abandon them.
  88. And for those who disbelieve and hinder/turn others away from God’s path, we have added suffering onto their suffering because of the corruption they spread. 
  89. There will come a day that for every community/nation, from among themselves, we will bring forth a witness against them. And we will bring you as a witness over these people. We have sent this Book down to you as a detailed explainer for everything, a guide, a mercy, a glad tiding to those who surrender to God.
  90. Indeed, God commands justice, well and nice behavior/grace, and giving to relatives. He forbids all filth/impoliteness, evil, lust, greed and jealousy. He gives you advice so that you may contemplate and take lessons/warnings/examples.
  91. When you make an agreement, show loyalty to the promise you made to God! Do not break your oaths after you have confirmed them. Because you have made God a warrantor/sponsor/surety over you. Indeed, God knows what you are doing.
  92. When taking your oaths, do not be like her who unravels her spun yarn into untwisted strands after twisting it with force. Because one community turns out richer and more numerous than the other, you take your oaths as a cheating device between yourselves. Only, God tests you by it. On the day of resurrection, in a clear way, He will show you the things you fell into conflict about.
  93. If God had wished it, of course He would have formed you into one community/nation. But He strays whoever He wants/whoever wants it, and He guides whoever He wants/whoever wants it to good and beauty. Surely, you will be questioned about what you have done.
  94. Do not take your oaths as a cheating device between yourselves. Otherwise, feet will slip after they are firmly planted, and you will taste the evil of hindering from God’s Way. And there will be a great suffering for you.
  95. Do not sell the promise you made to God for a simple fee/a little price. If you know, what is with God is better for you.
  96. Whatever is with you will run out, but what is with God will remain. And surely, we will pay the patient ones their rewards according to the best of what they used to do and produce.
  97. Either man or woman, whoever does work intended for good and peace, will be given a good life. And we will pay them their reward according to the best of what they used to do and produce.
  98. When you read the Recitation, seek refuge in God from the devil/astray/distant/corrupt/rebellious/insolent/obstructing/opposing, the banished and stoned.
  99. Indeed, he has no authority over those who believe/have faith and rely only on/trust only in their God.
  100. His authority is only over those who take him as an ally/who give him authority and those who associate God with partners.
  101.  When we replace a sign/wonder/verse with another one -for God knows best what He reveals/sends down-, they say: ‘You’re only a slanderer/inventor/fabricator.’ No! Most of them do not know.
  102. Say: ‘To strengthen/harden and root those who believe/have faith, and as truth/good news/glad tidings and a guide for those who surrender to God, the Holy Spirit has brought it down from your God.’
  103. And certainly, we know that they say: ‘He is only taught by a human being.’ The speech of the one they turn their direction toward is foreign/obscure in tongue, while this is a clear/comprehensible/intelligible/clarifying tongue.
  104. God does not guide those who do not believe God’s signs/wonders/verses. For them, a painful suffering is foreseen.
  105. Lies are only invented by those who do not believe God’s signs/wonders/verses. They are the liars.
  106. Whoever speaks ill about God after believing -except who is forced with oppression while his heart is calmed down with faith- and opens his chest to denial, will receive a wrath from God. For them, a great suffering is foreseen.
  107. It is like this, because they preferred this temporary life to the hereafter. And God does not guide a community that conceals/covers up/obscures/disbelieves to what is right.
  108. These are the ones whose hearts, ears and eyes are sealed by God. And they are the ones stuck in unmindful neglect.
  109. Without a doubt, in the hereafter they are the losers.
  110. Then indeed, your God for those who departed/separated themselves/moved away after they were tested, then strove/struggled/made an effort and endured; indeed, your God, after that, is surely covering/shielding/protecting/forgiving and compassionate.
  111. The day will come that every self/soul/individual will contend/dispute/argue on its own behalf, and everyone will be paid exactly the equivalent of what they did; they will not be wronged/treated unjustly.
  112. God has set an example of this settlement/village/community: It was safe and peaceful. It had livelihood/sustenance coming abundantly from every side. Then, they covered up/concealed/ignored/denied God's benefits/favors, so God made them taste the garment/covering of hunger and fear because of the things they made/did/produced deliberately/industrially.
  113. Certainly, a messenger from among them came to them, but they denied him. Then, when they were continuing their wrongdoing/acting unjustly/displacing what is rightful, they were captured by suffering.
  114. Eat of the unbound/released/free and clean/pure/wholesome livelihood/sustenance that God provides for you. If you only serve/work for/devote yourself to Him, give thanks for God’s blessings.
  115. He only has forbidden the following to you: dead animals/creatures that have already died, blood, flesh of the pig/swine, meat of animals that while being slaughtered had another name cried out over it besides God’s. At the same time; if someone is forced/compelled to eat of these, on the condition that rights of others are not violated and that limits are not exceeded, God will forgive and have mercy.
  116. Do not slander against God by fabricating lies, using your tongues’ false characterizations/definitions saying: ‘This one is unbound/released/free, and that one is forbidden!’ Those who slander against God by fabricating lies will never succeed/will be beyond hope.
  117. After a small blessing, there is a painful suffering for them.
  118. We had previously forbidden to those who became Jewish what we have told you. We did not wrong them/treated them unjustly, but they wronged themselves/treated themselves unjustly.
  119. Then indeed, for those who commit evil because of ignorance, then vow to not do it again and mend their ways, your God surely is the Constant Forgiver and the Endlessly Loving, Compassionate.
  120. Indeed, Abram was a nation in himself; he was submissive to God, upright/true in orientation/rightly inclined. He did not associate God with partners.
  121. He was thankful for His blessings. God chose him and guided him towards a straight path.
  122. We gave him good on Earth, and indeed in the hereafter he surely will be among the uprights/righteous/those who are correct in action and character.
  123. Then, we revealed to you: Follow the path/practice/system of belief of Abram, the upright/true in orientation/rightly inclined. And he was not one of those who associate God with partners.
  124. The Sabbath/day of rest was only appointed for those who differed about it. Your God will judge/decide between them on the day of resurrection regarding what they used to differ about.
  125. Call to the Way of your God with wisdom and good instruction/advice. And dispute with them by means of what is best/most excellent/most beautiful. Indeed, your God knows best who has strayed from His Way. And He knows best who is guided to truth.
  126. If you retaliate, then only retaliate with the same sort and amount of what you were afflicted with. But if you are patient, surely this is better for the ones who are patient.
  127. Be patient. Your patience is only with the help of God. Do not worry about them/grieve over them. And don’t be alarmed by the traps they are setting/what they are plotting/what they are devising.
  128. Indeed, God is with those who are careful/cautious/wary/refraining, those who have good intentions and those who do good work.
