45. Ta Ha

1.     Ta, Ha.

2.     We have not sent down this Recitation to you for you to suffer trouble or be unhappy.

3.     We have sent it down as a reminder/thought provoker/advice for those who shiver in respect.

4.     We have sent it down as a revelation from the One who created the Earth and the high, high heavens.

5.     The Endlessly Merciful is established over the Throne/booth/shed/building made of sticks/the pulling up/the building up.

6.     To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens, whatever is on the Earth, whatever is between them, and whatever is under the soil.

7.     Even if you will announce this word openly, He knows the secret, and what is more hidden than the hidden.

8.     He is God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power. There is no deity but Him. To Him belong the most beautiful names.

9.     Has the story of Moses reached you?

10.  When he saw a fire and said to his family: ‘Wait! I perceived a fire. Maybe I will bring you a burning coal from it, or I will find guidance at the fire.’

11.  Then, when he came to it, he was called: ‘Moses!

12.  Indeed, I Am your God! Take off your shoes; you are in the sacred valley Tuwa.

13.  And I have chosen you, so, listen to what is revealed.

14.  Do not doubt that I Am God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power. There is no deity but Me. So, serve/worship Me and fulfil the prayer to remember/mention Me.

15.  Do not doubt that time/hour will come. I almost hide it so that every self will obtain the equivalent of its effort.

16.  So, do not let those who don’t believe in it and go after their desires make you turn away from it. Otherwise, you will perish.

17.  What is that in your right hand, Moses?’

18.  He answered: ‘That is my staff. I lean on it, with it, I bring down leaves with it for my sheep. Also, it has other uses for me.’

19.  He commanded: ‘Throw it down, Moses.’

20.  So, he threw it down, and behold! A snake, moving swiftly.

21.  He commanded: ‘Take it, don’t be afraid. We will return it to its former state.

22.  And draw your hand near to your side, as another sign/wonder/verse, it will come out pure/unmarked/white/innocent/blank/unwritten/clear/luminous/bright without any disease.

23.  Like this, we will show you some of our greatest signs/wonders/verses.

24.  Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has gone beyond limits.’

25.  Moses said: ‘My God, open and expand for me my chest;

26.  Ease for me my task;

27.  Untie the knot from my tongue,

28.  so that they will understand my speech.

29.  Give me a helper from my family,

30.  my brother Aaron.

31.  Reinforce my strength through him,

32.  and make him share in my task.

33.  So that we can turn/return to You with sincerity, remembrance and praise a lot.

34.  So that we can remember You a lot.

35.  Indeed, You are the All-Seer of us.’

36.  He commanded: ‘Verily, Moses, you have been granted your request.

37.  Certainly, we have blessed/favored you another time.

38.  When we inspired your mother with what is inspired:

39.  “Put him into a coffin/chest/case, then cast it into the stream/river. Let the stream/river take him to the shore, so that he will be taken by an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.” Upon you, I placed a love of My own, so that you would be brought up/trained under My eye.

40.  When your sister went and said: “Shall I show you who will take care of him?” Finally, we returned you to your mother, so that her eye would be comforted/enlightened, and she would not grieve/worry. You had also killed a man. Then, we saved you from sorrow. We put you to a thorough test. After that, for many years you stayed among the people of Midian. Then, at a determined time/according to a fate, you showed op, Moses.

41.  And I have chosen/raised you for Myself.

42.  Go, you and your brother, with My signs/wonders/verses, and do not slack in remembering Me.

43.  Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, because he has gone beyond limits.

44.  Speak to him with a soft and gentle word; maybe he will take advice, or he will shiver.’

45.  They said: ‘Our God, we fear that he might let himself go against us, or that he will go beyond limits.’

46.  He commanded: ‘Don’t be afraid! I am with you both; I hear, and I see.

47.  So, go to him and say: “Indeed, we both are messengers of your God. Send with us the children of Israel, do not torture them! We came to you with a sign/wonder/verse from your God. Peace be upon those who follow the guidance.

48.  Verily, it has been revealed to us that suffering will be upon those who deny and turn away.’

49.  Pharaoh said: ‘Who is your God, Moses?’

50.  Moses said: ‘Our God is the One who gives everything its form and then guides it.’

51.  He said: ‘But what will become of the former generations?’

52.  ‘The knowledge of them is with my God, in a book/record. My God neither makes an error nor forgets.’

53.  He is the One who made the Earth a cradle for you, and made paths for you in it, and sends down water from the sky. With that water, we brought out pairs of various plants.

54.  Eat, and let your animals pasture/graze. Indeed, in this are signs/wonders/verses for those who have intelligence.

55.  We created you from the Earth. We will send you back to it. And from there, we will bring you out another time.

56.  Certainly, we showed Pharaoh all of our signs/wonders/verses, but he denied and persisted in his stubbornness.

57.  He said: ‘Have you come to drive us out of our land with your magic/spell, Moses?

58.  We too, will definitely produce you a magic/spell like yours. Set a meeting place and time between you and us, such that neither we nor you will back out. Let it be a place that is suitable for everyone.’

59.  Moses said: ‘Let our meeting day be the day of the festival. Let the people gather at the morning hours.’

60.  Then Pharaoh went away, put together his plan and then came.

61.  Moses said to them: ‘Woe to you. Do not slander against God by inventing lies, lest He will dry up your roots with a suffering. The slanderer is ruined.’

62.  Upon this, they discussed their affairs among themselves, they deepened the whisper/kept their private conversation a secret.

63.  They said: ‘These are nothing but two sorcerers. They want to drive you out of your land with their magic/spells, and they want to wipe out your exemplary path.

64.  Now, put together your abilities, then come in tight rows. Today, whoever prevails will succeed.’

65.  They said: ‘Moses, either show your skill or we will be the first to show ours.’

66.  Moses said: ‘No, you throw.’ Then behold, their ropes and sticks with their magic made it seem to him that they were moving.

67.  Moses sensed a fear within himself.

68.  We said: ‘Don’t be afraid. Indeed, you will be the one to prevail.

69.  Put down what is in your right hand. Let it devour what they produced industrially. What they produce industrially is nothing but a magician’s trick. And wherever he goes, the magician never prospers.’

70.  Thereupon, the magicians fell down in prostration. They said: ‘We believe in the God of Aaron and Moses.’

71.  Pharaoh said: ‘You believe him without me giving permission, is that so? Indeed, he is your senior in teaching magic. I swear that I will cut off your hands and feet crosswise, and I will hang you from the palm trees. And surely, you will very well know which of us has a more severe and lasting suffering!’

72.  They said: ‘We will never prefer you over the clear evidence that has come to us, and over the One who has created us. Enforce your verdict. Your verdict will only hold in this life on Earth.

73.  We believe in our God, that He may forgive our sins and the magic/spells that you compelled us to do. God is more beneficial, is Ever lasting.’

74.  Indeed, for who comes to his God’s presence as a criminal, there is hell for him. He will not die there, nor will he find life.

75.  As for whoever comes to His presence as a believer who has done/produced kindness for good and peace, for them are the high ranks.

76.  Gardens of Eden; the rivers flow from underneath them, they will reside in it continuously. That is the reward for who purifies himself.

77.  Certainly, we revealed this to Moses: ‘Travel by night with my servants. Open a dry path for them in the sea. Don’t fear to be overtaken and don’t be afraid.’

78.  Then, Pharaoh and his army followed them. But from the sea, what surrounded them, surrounded them.

79.  And Pharaoh led his own people astray and did not guide them.

80.  Children of Israel, verily we saved you from your enemy. We made a promise to you on the right side of the mountain. And we sent down manna/portions of edible substance and quails to you.

81.  Eat of the clean/pure/good livelihood that we have provided. Do not go beyond limits in this. Else, My anger will come down on you. And whoever My anger falls upon will go off the cliff/will perish.

82.  But indeed, I am the One who forgives sins unexpectedly from whoever He wants, for whoever asks for forgiveness, believes, does/produces things for good and peace, and then proceeds in a proper way.

83.  What made you move away from your people so quickly, Moses?

84.  He said: ‘They are close upon my tracks. I hurried to come to You, my God, so that You may be pleased with me.’

85.  He commanded: ‘But verily, we have tried your people after you, and the Samiri/stranger/foreigner has led them astray.’

86.  Then Moses returned to his people, angry and disappointed/disheartened. He said: ‘My people, didn’t your God give you a good promise? Was the period too long for you, or did you desire the anger of your God to descend onto you, is that why you broke your promise to me?’

87.  They said: ‘We didn’t break our promise to you by our will/our property. The thing is this: we were burdened with some of the ornaments of that community, we threw them away; as did the Samiri/stranger/foreigner.’

88.  The Samiri/stranger/foreigner brought out for them a calf’s statue/body; it had a bellowing sound. They said: ‘This is your god and the god of Moses. But Moses forgot.’

89.  Didn’t they see; it could not return any word to them, it cannot harm them, and it cannot benefit them.

90.  Certainly, before, Aaron had said to them: ‘My people, you are being tested by it. Your God is the Endlessly Merciful, so follow me and obey my order.’

91.  They said: ‘We will never stop being devoted to it until Moses returns to us.’

92.  He said: ‘Aaron, when you saw them going astray, what took you

93.  from following me? Have you disobeyed my order?’

94.  Aaron said: ‘Son of my mother! Don’t grab me by my beard and by my head! Indeed, I feared that you would say: “You caused division between the children of Israel; you did not respect my word!”’

95.  Moses said: ‘Then what was your case, Samiri/stranger/foreigner?’

96.  The Samiri/stranger/foreigner said: ‘In it, I perceived what they didn’t perceive. So, I took a handful from the track of the Messenger, then threw it. My personality/soul suggested this to me/made this look good to me.’

97.  Moses said: ‘Then go. Because throughout your life, you will say: “Don’t touch me!” And also, there is a time of account for you that you cannot escape. Look at the god that you keep being devoted to. We will definitely burn it and scatter it in the sea in particles.’

98.  Your God is the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power, except for whom there is no deity. He encompasses all things in knowledge.

99.  Like this, we tell you some of the news from what came before in time. And certainly, from us, we have given you a mentioning/remembering/reminder.

100. Whoever turns away from it, will bear a burden on the day of judgment/resurrection.

101. And will be under that burden for a long time; what a bad burden for them on the day of judgment/resurrection.

102. On that day, the trumpet will be blown, and we will gather the sinners with their eyes intensely blue.

103. They are murmuring among themselves: ‘You only stayed for about ten days.’

104. We know best what they will say, when their most distinguished one will say: ‘You stayed no more than one day.’

105. They ask you about the mountains. Say: ‘My God will blast them into particles.’

106. ‘He will leave their places empty and flat.’

107. You will not see any crookedness or lump in their places.’

108. On that day, they will oblige to the inviter that has no bending and twisting/difference in measurement. Voices become lowered in the presence of the Endlessly Merciful, so you will hear nothing but a gasp/whisper/faint sound.

109. On that day, mediation will be useless. Except for those whom the Endlessly Merciful has permitted and whose word He is pleased with.

110. He knows what they have sent before and what they left behind, but they cannot besiege Him with knowledge.

111. All faces will be humbled before the Ever Living/the Source of Life/the One for whom death is out of the question, the Source of Power/the Sustainer/the One whose power keeps everything in its proper form. The one who carried oppression/wrongdoing has failed/perished away.

112. But the one who did/produced deeds for good and peace is not afraid of being wronged or oppressed and humiliated.

113. Like this, we have sent it down as an articulated/clear/errorless/plain language Recitation and in it, we have listed the warnings in various expressions, so that they may be careful/cautious/wary/refraining, or that the Recitation may present them with a new reminder/reminding.

114. High/above all is God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power, the Supreme Owner of Power, reign and governance, the Truth/the Source and Determiner of Truth/the One of whom every action and command is in accordance with the truth/the Source and Determiner of rights and law. Do not be hasty about the Recitation before its revelation to you is finished. Say: ‘My God, increase my knowledge.’

115. Certainly, we made a pact with Adam before, but he forgot; we did not see any determination in him.

116. And when we said to the angels: ‘Prostrate to Adam,’ they prostrated, except for the despairing/confused/remainer in grief; he refused.

117. Upon this, we said: ‘Adam, this is an enemy to both you and your pair/spouse/wife, so be careful that he doesn’t drive you out of the heavenly garden; then you will be miserable/in suffering.

118. In it there is no hunger for you, nor will you be naked.

119. And here you will not be thirsty, nor will you be burned by the sun.’

120. Then, the devil/astray/distant/corrupt/rebellious/insolent/obstructing/opposing gave him delusion by saying: ‘Adam, shall I show you the tree of eternity, and an imperishable kingdom/property and reign that never gets old?’

121. Finally, they both ate from it. Their ugliness/shame became apparent to them. They started covering their selves up with the leaves of the heavenly garden. Adam revolted against his God, had gone beyond limits, had gone to waste.

122. Then, his God purified and cleaned him, accepted his asking for forgiveness and guided him to what is good and right.

123. God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power said: ‘Go down from there, both of you together. Some of you are enemies to others. When a guidance comes from Me to you, whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray nor will become miserable/suffer.’

124. Whoever turns away from My mentioning/remembering/reminder/my Recitation will have a difficult, tiresome life/a narrow livelihood; and on the day of resurrection/judgement, we will gather him blind.

125. He will say: ‘My God, why did you gather me blind, I had sight.’

126. God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power will command: ‘When our signs/wonders/verses came to you, you forgot them, and today you are forgotten in the same way.’

127. This is how we punish those who are wasteful/impertinent/go beyond limits and do not believe in the signs/wonders/verses of his God. And the suffering of the hereafter is much more severe and more permanent.

128. Hasn’t our destruction of many of the generations before them have them see reason? They roam about in their dwellings. Indeed, in this are signs/wonders/verses for those who have intelligence.

129. If there was not a preceded word from your God, and a predetermined term, these ones’ destruction, too, would have been inevitable.

130. Now, be patient over what they are saying; give praise to and seek refuge with your God/return/turn to Him with sincerity, remembrance and praise/repent from sins and accept truth, both before sunrise and sunset; and during some hours of the night and the two end-sides of the daytime, so you may be satisfied/content.

131. Do not aspire/have an eye on the ornaments/blessings of temporary life that we have given to some pairs of them as a test. The livelihood of your God is both better and more continuous.

132. Encourage your family to pray and continue with it with patience. We do not ask for provision from you. We are providing for you. The outcome is for the careful/cautious/wary/refraining ones.

133. They said: ‘He should have brought us a miracle from his God!’ Well, didn’t the clear evidence from the former pages reach them?

134. If we had destroyed them with a suffering before that, they would surely have said: ‘Our God, if only You had sent us a messenger so that we would have followed Your signs/wonders/verses before being humiliated and disgraced!’

135.Say: ‘Everyone is waiting and watching; so, wait and watch. Soon, you will know who the companions of the straight path are, and who is guided.’
