  1. Aleph, Lam, Mim, Sad.
  2. This is a book, sent down to you to warn with it, and as an advice and thought provoker for those who believe. So, let there be no agony in your chest because of this.
  3. Comply to what has been sent down to you from your God; don’t seek saints other than Him/don’t seek for saints outside of Him. How little advice you take!
  4. We have destroyed many countries and civilizations; so much so that, while they were sleeping at night or in the afternoon, our suffering landed onto them.
  5. When our suffering came onto them, they had no other plea than raising this cry: ‘Indeed, we were cruels.’
  6. We will surely question the ones to whom we sent messengers; and we will surely question the messengers.
  7. Then, by the witnessing of a knowledge/by means of a knowledge, we will surely tell them about the entire adventure. We are not beings of the unseen world/lost beings.
  8. On that day, the measure that sorts out the good and the bad is Truth. So, those whose scales are heavy will be the successful ones.
  9. For the ones whose scales are light, they will have pushed their core-selves into defeat, because they acted cruelly against our signs/wonders/verses.
  10. Certainly, we installed you on the face of the earth and in it, we brought blessings and possibilities into being for you. How little are you grateful.
  11. Certainly, we created you, then we shaped you, then we said to the angels: ‘Prostrate to Adam.’ So, they prostrated. Except for the despairing/confused/remainer in grief. He was not of those who prostrated.
  12. God said: ‘What kept you from prostrating when I commanded you?’ The despairing/confused/remainer in grief said: ‘I am better than him. You created me from fire, You created him from clay.’
  13. God said: ‘Then get down from it. It is not for you to be arrogant in it. Get out, indeed, you are of the disgraced ones.’
  14. He said: ‘Give me time until the day they are raised up/resurrected.’
  15. God said: ‘Indeed, you are of the ones given time.’
  16. He said: ‘I swear by Your sending me astray, I will sit on Your straight path to lead them astray.
  17. Then, I will pester them from their fronts, from their backs, from their rights and from their lefts. You will not find most of them being grateful.’
  18. God said: ‘Get out of it, being defeated and expelled. If any of them follows you, certainly I will fill hell with you all together.
  19. And Adam! You and your wife, dwell in the heavenly garden, and both eat from wherever you both want, but do not approach this tree. Or else, you both will be among the cruels.’
  20. Then the devil/astray/distant/corrupt/rebellious/insolent/obstructing/opposing gave both of them delusion to show them their shame/their ugly parts that had been hidden from themselves. He said: ‘Your God keeps you far from this tree so that you do not become two angels/two kings, or you become of the immortals.’
  21. Also, he swore to both of them: ‘To both of you, I am among the sincere advisors.’ 
  22. Finally, he deceived them and brought them down. When they both tasted from the tree, their shame/their ugly parts opened up/became apparent/became observable to both of them. They began to make patches of the heavenly garden’s leaves and cover themselves with it. Their God called to them both: ‘Didn’t I forbid you both from this tree? Didn’t I say to both of you that the devil/astray/distant/corrupt/rebellious/insolent/obstructing/opposing is an open enemy to you both?’
  23. ‘Our God,’ they said, ‘we have cruelled our core-selves. If You won’t forgive us, if You won’t have mercy on us, we will surely be among the defeated ones.’
  24. God said: ‘Descend, some of you being enemies to one another. It is foreseen that you will occupy the Earth and to receive blessings until a certain period of time.
  25. There you will find life, there you will die, and from it, you will be brought forth.’
  26. Children of Adam! Verily, we have sent down garments for you to cover your private parts, and garments for beautification and display as well. But the best garment is that of being careful/cautious/wary/refraining. This is one of the sings/wonders/verses of God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power, so that they may remember.
  27. Children of Adam! Do not let the devil/astray/distant/corrupt/rebellious/insolent/obstructing/opposing tempt you, as he drove out your parents from the heavenly garden, stripping their garments from both of them to show both of them their shame/ugly parts/private parts. Because he and his tribe can see you from where you cannot see them. Indeed, we have made those devils friends/saints to the disbelievers.
  28. When they do something repulsive/vulgar, they say: ‘We found our forefathers on it. So, God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power commanded this to us.’ Say: ‘God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power does not command repulsiveness/vulgarity. Do you say about God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power what you don’t know?’
  29. And say: ‘My God commanded me justice. Direct your faces towards Him in every place of prostration. Call/beg/invoke Him/invite Him by being sincere to Him in religion. Just as He created you the first time, you will be returned to Him.’
  30. A group, He guided to what is right and beautiful, and a group deserved to go astray. Besides God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power, they took devils as their friends/saints. While they think that they are guided ones.
  31. Children of Adam! In every place of prostration, dress up with your fancy, beautiful garments. Eat, drink, but do not waste/be excessive. Indeed, He does not like the ones who waste/are excessive.
  32. Say: ‘Who has forbidden the fancy, beautiful, clean and pretty/sweet livelihood/sustenance that God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power has brought forth for His servants?’ Say: ‘In this worldly life, they exist for the believers, too. On the day of judgment, though, they are exclusively for the believers.’ For a community who knows, we explain the signs/wonders/verses detailed like this/chapter by chapter.
  33. Say: ‘My God has only forbidden these: repulsiveness/vulgarity -both the apparent and the concealed-, sin, oppression/aggression without right, associating others with God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power for which He has not send down any proof, and saying about God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power that which you don’t know.
  34. For every people/nation/society/lineage/tribe, there is a fixed term. When their time expires, they cannot delay an hour, nor can they advance it.
  35. Children of Adam! When from among you there come messengers to you, who tell you about My signs/wonders/verses, there is no fear for whoever guards him-/herself and improves his/her situation. And they will not worry.
  36. For those who deny and are arrogant towards our signs/wonders/verses, they are the friends of fire. They will stay in it continuously.
  37. Who is crueller than those who slander God by fabricating lies, or those who deny His signs/wonders/verses? These are the ones whose share of the Book reaches them, until when our messengers/delegates come to them and take their life, they say: ‘Where are those whom you used to call/beg to/invoke besides God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power?’ They answer: ‘They moved away from us and disappeared.’ Like this, against their core-selves they testified that they are disbelievers.
  38. He will say: ‘Enter the fire, together with people/nations/societies/lineages/tribes of the humans and the entities of the dark/invisible entities who passed away before you.’ Every time a people/nation/society/lineage/tribe enters, it curses its companion/sister. When they all join one another there, the later ones will say about the former ones: ‘Our God! These ones led us astray. Give them double the suffering of the fire.’ He will say: ‘There is a double for each, but you do not know.’
  39. And the former ones will say about the later ones: ‘Now, you have no superiority over us anymore. So, taste the suffering as a return for what you used to earn.’
  40. Indeed, for those who deny our signs/wonders/verses and are arrogant towards them, the doors of the sky will not open. And they will not enter the heavenly garden until a camel passes through the eye of a needle. This is the way we punish the criminals.
  41. For them, there is a bed/cradle from hell, and there are coverings over them. This is the way we punish the cruels.
  42. As for those who believe and do/produce things for good and peace, -for we only assign duties to/burden each self/being to the extent of the capacity of its creation- they are the companions of the heavenly garden. They will reside there continuously.
  43. We ripped out whatever animosity was in their chests. Rivers flow beneath them. They will say: ‘Thank God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power for bringing us here. If God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power had not guided us, we would not have reached it. Certainly, the messengers of our God brought truth.’ They will be addressed: ‘This is the heavenly garden which you have been made to inherit in return for what you have done.’
  44. The companions of the heavenly garden will call out to the companions of fire: ‘We found what our God had promised us to be true. What about you, have you found what your God had promised you to be true?’ They will say: ‘Yes!’ An announcer from among them will announce: ‘May God’s/the Creator’s/the Doer’s/the Eternal’s/the Everlasting’s/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence’s/the Unique’s/the unpartnered Power’s curse be upon the cruels!’
  45. Those who turn away from the way of God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power and seek crookedness, while they deny the hereafter.
  46. Between the two sides is a curtain/a partition, and on familiarities/knowings/ recognitions/identifications/experiences/awarenesses/insights/definitions/informings/ customs/traditions/norms/crests/cockscombs/outgrowths/heights are men recognizing all by their marks/faces. To those who have not entered it yet, although they long for it, the companions of the heavenly garden will call out: ‘Peace be upon you.’
  47.  When their eyes turn to the companions of fire, they said: ‘Our God, don’t unite us with the people of cruelty!’
  48. The people of familiarities/knowings/ recognitions/identifications/experiences/awarenesses/insights/definitions/informings/ customs/traditions/norms/crests/cockscombs/outgrowths/heights will call out to some men they recognize by their marks/faces: ‘Neither your coming together nor your arrogance has benefited you in any way.’
  49. ‘Are these the ones whom you had sworn about that God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power would not give them any mercy? Enter the heavenly garden! There is no fear for you, nor will you grieve.’
  50. The companions of fire will call out to the companions of the heavenly garden: ‘Pour us some of that water, or of whatever sustenance God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power gave you.’ They will answer: ‘God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power has forbidden both of them to the disbelievers.’
  51. They turned their own religion into entertainment and play, the Earth-life deluded them. So today, we forget them as they had forgotten they would reach this day of theirs, and because they resisted/rejected our signs/wonders/verses.
  52. Cetainly, we have brought them a Book in accordance with knowledge/science, that we have made detailed/divided into sections. For a community who believes, it is a guidance, a mercy.
  53. They only look out for its interpretation/taking its words to their basic meaning/carrying its words to a meaning beyond the commonly known meaning. When its interpretation comes, the ones who had forgotten about it before will say: ‘Verily, our God’s messengers have brought the truth! Would there be any mediators for us, so they can mediate for us; or can we be sent back so we can do different deeds than we used to?’ They drove their core-selves into defeat. The things they used as instruments for their slander, moved away from them and disappeared.
  54. Your God is the God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power who created the heavens and Earth in six days/epochs, and afterwards established Himself over the Throne/booth/shed/building made of sticks/the pulling up/the building up. He covers the night with the day. One pursues the other, continuously and accurately. And the sun, the moon, the stars are subjected by His command. Open your eyes/know this; both creation and command are His/both creation and command are for Him. Blessed is God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power, God of the worlds.
  55. Call/beg to/invoke your God humbly, and privately/shiveringly. Indeed, He does not love the offenders/those who go beyond limits.
  56. Do not cause disturbance/poison/corruption/malice on the Earth after its peace has been restored. Call/pray to Him shiveringly and with hope. Indeed, the mercy of God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power is very near to those who have beautiful thoughts and beautiful deeds.
  57. He is the One who sends the winds before His mercy, as a bearer of good tidings. Finally, when they carry loaded/heavy clouds, we drive them to a dead land; we bring down water with it, and with that water we bring out all kinds of fruits. As we bring out the dead, so that you may think and draw lessons from it.
  58. Vegetation of the beautiful and pure land will come up with permission of its God. But from what is dirty and barren nothing comes up except with difficulty. For a community that is thankful we explain our signs/wonders/verses in such various ways.
  59. Certainly, we sent Noah to his community and he said: ‘Oh, my community! Serve and worship God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power. You have no deity but Him. I fear a suffering of a tremendous day coming down on you.’
  60. The big chiefs of his community said: ‘Indeed, we see you in a clear error.’
