1. Tsade. By the Recitation full of mentioning/remembering/reminder/advice/warning.
2. It is not as they think it is, at all. Those disbelievers are in a state of pride, separation and a breaking apart from the whole.
3. We destroyed many generations before them, they called/cried out, but there was no escape; the time had passed.
4. They were astonished that a warner had come to them from among themselves. And these ungrateful ones said: ‘This man is a sorcerer who tells lies.’
5. ‘Has he made the gods into one god? Indeed, that is a curious thing.’
6. A group of big chiefs from among them stepped forward. ‘Come on, act determined about owning/protecting/claiming your gods. Indeed, this is what is wanted and expected.’
7. ‘We haven’t heard of this in the other/latest/last religion. This is nothing but a fabrication.’
8. ‘Has the message/the advice and warning been sent down to him from among us?’ No, they doubted My Message/Recitation. No, they have not yet tasted My suffering.
9. Or do they have the treasures of the mercy of your God, the Source and Owner of power and honor/the Very Strong/Honorable, the One whose giving is unlimited/who gives continuously and unlimitedly?
10. Or do they have the property and dominion/kingdom/governance/reign over the heavens, the Earth and everything in between? If so, let them ascend by the means.
11. A so-called army composed of tribes; it will be defeated here.
12. Before them, the people of Noah and Aad had denied. And Pharaoh, owner of stakes.
13. Thamud, the people of Lot, the dwellers of the Wood, owners of the water source feeding dense trees. They were cliques/groupings/lobby’s/companies like this.
14. All of them did nothing but deny the messengers. At last, My suffering became truth.
15. And all that these await is a single, terrible sound that hasn’t the slightest delay.
16. They said: ‘Our God, give us our share/accounting book quickly, before the settlement day.’
17. Be patient with what they say. Remember our servant David, the possessor of strength. Indeed, he was a servant who constantly turned/returned to God with sincerity, remembrance and praise.
18. Indeed, with him we subjected the mountains to our command: praising together in the evening and at sunrise.
19. And the birds all assembled, and together with him they constantly turned/returned to God with sincerity, remembrance and praise.
20. We strengthened his property and his ruling/governance. We gave him wisdom/profundity/hidden cause/reason/mystery, and the ability/talent/capability of speech that distinguished right from wrong/decisive speech.
21. Did the news reach you about those opponents, when they climbed over the wall of the shrine/altar/temple/sanctuary?
22. They entered upon David and he was scared by them. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ they said, ‘we are two litigants. One of us has violated the rights of the other. Now you judge between us with truth. Don’t do injustice. Guide us to the balance point of the way!’
23. ‘This is my brother; he has ninety-nine sheep. While I have one single sheep. Still, he said: “Entrust her to me”. And he overpowered me in speech.’
24. David said: ‘Certainly, by demanding to add your single sheep to his own sheep, he has wronged you. Indeed, many partners/associates certainly oppress and do wrong to one another. Those who believe/have faith and do/produce things for truth and peace are not like this. But they are very few.’ David became certain that we tested him; he asked for forgiveness of his God; bowing, he fell down to the ground and turned to God.
25. So, we forgave him that. And indeed, with us there is a closeness/a near access and a bright future/good place of return for him.
26. Oh David, on the Earth we made you a successor/substitute. Now, judge between people with truth; don’t go after temporary desires, so it will not stray you from God’s way. Indeed, for those who stray from God’s way there is a severe suffering, for forgetting the settlement day.
27. We did not create the heavens and the Earth and everything in between without a purpose. That is the assumption of disbelievers. Woe to those disbelievers from the fire.
28. Or will we treat those who believe/have faith and do/produce things for truth and peace in the same way as those who conspire/plot mischief on Earth? Or will we treat the careful/cautious/wary/refraining ones in the same way as the shameless perverts/strays/wicked?
29. This is a sacred/blessed and fruitful Book; we have revealed it to you, so the ones with a pure essence/core/heart/with awareness/understanding/consciousness can deeply contemplate its signs/wonders/verses and take advice.
30. To David we gifted Solomon. What a beautiful servant! Repeatedly, he would turn/return to God with sincerity, remembrance and praise.
31. In the late afternoon/early evening, he was presented with whole blood racehorses that stood on three legs and had one hoof stand straight on its toe.
32. He said: ‘I have embraced the love of wealth for the sake of remembering my God.’ Until they were hidden behind the veil.
33. ‘Return them to me,’ he said. Then he began to caress the legs and the necks.
34. And certainly, we tested Solomon, we placed a dead body on his throne, and he turned to God, asking for forgiveness.
35. He prayed: ‘My God, forgive me. Give me property and a dominion/kingdom/governance/reign that will benefit nobody after me. Indeed, you are the One whose giving is unlimited/who gives continuously and unlimitedly.’
36. Then, we subjected the wind to him; with his command, it flowed gently/peacefully wherever he wished.
37. And we gave the devils to his command. They were all building masters/experts and underwater divers.
38. And others, bound together in iron chains.
39. This is our gift/blessing, so give/grant it or keep it in your hands, there is no account.
40. And indeed, with us there is a closeness/a near access and a bright future/good place of return for him.
41. And remember our servant Job. When he called out to his God: ‘The devil/astray/distant/corrupt/rebellious/insolent/obstructing/opposing touched me with tiredness and suffering.’
42. ‘Stomp your foot! This is a place to wash, and a place to drink some cold water,’ we said.
43. And we granted him his family, and with them, their similar; a mercy from us, and a reminder to the ones with a pure essence/core/heart/awareness/understanding/consciousness.
44. ‘And take in your hand a bundle of stalks, and strike with it, and do not break your oath,’ we said. Indeed, we found him patient. What a beautiful servant! Repeatedly, he would turn/return to God with sincerity, remembrance and praise.
45. And remember our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; possessors of strength and power; men of vision and insight.
46. We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembering of the Home.
47. And indeed, to us they are among the chosen/distinguished, outstanding/good/auspicious ones.
48. And remember Ishmael, Elisha and the possessor of destiny/fortune/guarantee/pair/similar/duplicate/the one belonging to Kapilvastu. They all were among the chosen/distinguished ones.
49. This is a reminder. For those who are careful/cautious/wary/refraining, surely there is a bright future/a good place of return.
50. The gardens of Eden, of which the gates have been opened to them.
51. There, leaning, they call for lots of fruits and drink.
52. With them, well-matched companions of modest gaze.
53. This is what you are promised for the settlement day.
54. Indeed, this is the provision that we give; for it, there is no depletion.
55. This! And indeed, for the ones going beyond limits, there is a bad future/an evil place of return;
56. hell, which they will dive into. What an unhappy/unfortunate bed/mattress/resting place.
57. Here it is! Let them taste it: boiling fluid, rotten/smelly pus/fester.
58. And others of that kind, in pairs.
59. There will be said: ‘Here, a group that along with you went into resistance. There is no welcome for them. They are released into the fire.’
60. They said: ‘No, there is no welcome for you. You brought this upon us. What an unhappy/unfortunate stopping place/settlement it is.’
61. They called/begged/invoked: ‘Our God, whoever brought this upon us, increase them a double suffering in the fire.’
62. They said: ‘Why don’t we see those who we consider the representatives of evil?
63. We made fun of them; or has the vision turned away from them?’
64. Indeed, this is the sure truth; the quarreling of the people of fire.
65. Say: ‘I am only a warner. There is no deity but God/the Creator/the Doer/the Eternal/the Everlasting/the One who does not need anyone else in His existence/the Unique/the unpartnered Power, the One and Only in His attributes and characteristics/the One who wants His servants not to take any being as a companion or intermediary in their worship and direction, the One who crushes with his suffering the disbelievers that cover up the truth and oppose His commands.’
66. He is the God of the heavens, the Earth and everything in between. The Source and Owner of power and honor/the Very Strong/Honorable. The One who forgives sins unexpectedly from whoever He wants.
67. Say: ‘It is a great news.’
68. ‘You keep turning away from it.’
69. ‘I had no knowledge of that exalted council when they were discussing.’
70. ‘It is revealed to me that I am only a clear warner.’
71. When your God said to the angels: ‘I will create a human from mud.
72. When I have proportioned and breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall down before him in prostration.’
73. So, all the angels together bowed down in prostration.
74. Except for the despairing/confused/remainer in grief. He was arrogant and became one of the disbelievers.
75. God said: ‘Oh, despairing/confused/remainer in grief, what prevented you from prostrating to what I created with My Hands? Were you arrogant, or are you of the exalted ones?’
76. The despairing/confused/remainer in grief said: ‘I am better than him. You created me from fire, yet him you created from mud.’
77. He commanded: ‘Go on, get out of here. You are an exile/accursed.
78. My curse is upon you until the day of judgment.’
79. He said: ‘My God, then give me time until they are resurrected.’
80. He commanded: ‘Then indeed, you are of those that are given time.
81. Until the day of the well-known time.’
82. He said: ‘I swear by Your Power and Honor, I surely will have them all go beyond limits.
83. Except from among them, Your sincere and chosen servants.’
84. He commanded: ‘This is the truth, and the truth I say.
85. Surely, I will fill all of hell with you and those who follow you from among them.’
86. Say: ‘I don’t want any payment from you in return for this notification. I do not pressure/impose obligations onto you by my own initiative.’
87. This is nothing but a mentioning/remembering/reminder for the worlds.
88. And surely, after a while, you will know its news.
